- BALOO & Outdoor Leader Training – May 3rd & 10th, Petroleum Museum. Cub Scout and Boy Scout leaders and parents are welcomed to this outdoor training experience. Any unit wishing to conduct outdoor activities needs to have trained leaders to help make the program successful. This two-day training will help fill that need! - BALOO & Outdoor Leader Training – May 9-11th, BTSR. Here is another opportunity for Cub and Scout leaders to complete this important training session, this time at Buffalo Trail Scout Ranch! - COPE Day – May 17th, Camp Thomas, Big Spring – All Venturers, Explorers and older Scouts are invited for a day of challenge, fun, and excitement at the Camp Thomas COPE course in Big Spring, TX. With your group, you will take on a variety of initiative games, the trust sequence, high, and low elements all throughout the course. This day will challenge you to overcome fear, to help solve problems, and to work as a team! The cost is only $20 and includes lunch. - Train The Trainer – May 17th, TTU Health Science Center. This event is for all volunteers on our district and council training teams and those that wish to become a brand new trainer! Learn how to become an effective trainer, public speaker, and about the many BSA training resources. Don’t forget to pack your lunch! Click here to download a flyer (PDF document).
- Aquatics Day at HAB – June 28th, 9am-6pm Hughes Aquatic Base, Colorado City – All Venturers, Explorers, and older Scouts are invited to participate in this wet and wild event at the lake! Enjoy swimming, sailing, canoeing, and Water Skiing all in one day! Cost is only $20 per person, and includes lunch. - Rockhounds Family Campout & Picnic – August 23rd – Citibank Ball Park – Scouts and their families are invited to attend the annual picnic, baseball game, and campout at the ballpark! Tickets are only $15 for adults and youth 8 and up and $8 for youth 3-7 years old. Click here to download more information.
- 33rd Annual Buffalo Trail Council, BSA Pro-Am Golf Tournament – Mark your calendars now for August 25, 2008! Slots for teams fill up very quickly, so be ready to sign up soon! Click here for a reminder note and here to download a registration booklet with details on sponsorship opportunities.
- Merit Badge Academy 2009 – January 24th & 31st 2009. Mark your calendars now for the 11th Annual Merit Badge Academy, presented by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 30 Merit Badges will be offered, as well as training classes for the adults. - Weekend Cavalcades at BTSR - So you hiked the Scout Ranch, and all you saw was your own boots? Come see BTSR from the back of horse! Let HIM watch HIS feet while you enjoy the scenery! Two- or three-day horseback treks called cavalcades take off on select dates in the spring and fall for the roughest and prettiest parts of the Scout Ranch.
