Venturing
Venturing is a program for young men and young women ages 14 through 20. Venturing is one of the fastest growing programs in the Boy Scouts of America.
The purpose of Venturing is to provide experiences to help young people mature and become responsible and caring adults. Young people in Venturing learn leadership skills and participate in challenging outdoor activities.
Venturing focuses resources that help a community organization provide wholesome, flexible, well-rounded, challenging activities, tailor-made for teenage youth. Those resources include access to Boy Scout camping properties, a recognition program, youth protection training, and specific program helps for a variety of outdoor disciplines.

Council Announces Silver Award Recipient
The Buffalo Trail Council is proud to announce our newest Silver Award Recipient! Hannah Weber, a Venturer from Crew 7 in Big Spring, finished her requirements for the Silver Award on November 21st. Prior to earning her Silver, she also earned the Gold Award, the Sports Bronze Award, Arts and Hobbies Bronze Award, and the Religious Life Bronze Award. She has served in a variety of leadership positions, including Crew President, Youth Group President, and 4-H 2nd Vice President. Hannah has also completed the Venturing Leadership Skills Course, and has organized a variety of community service projects, including Christmas food delivery, and Salvation Army bell ringing.
The Venturing Silver Award is available to all Venturing youth members of the Boy Scouts of America. Its purpose is to provide a pathway for personal development; encourage Venturers to learn, grow, and serve; and recognize the high level of achievement of Venturers who acquire Venturing skills. It is the highest recognition award in the Venturing Program, equivalent to the Eagle Scout award in Boy Scouting. Only a handful of Venturers in the Buffalo Trail Council have earned this Award since 1998.
Please join us in congratulation Hannah for this significant accomplishment!
